homebrew CPUs

  • MyCPU (http://mycpu.mikrocontroller.net/index2.htm) - MyCPU, the first project of this type I discovered. This one started my interest in building my own CPU
  • MAGIC-1 (http://www.homebrewcpu.org/) - A really great project, which is documented quite nice (in fact I got the idea to keep a log of my proceedings from there). If you're interested in homebrew CPUs, take a close look at this one!
  • Wikiversity: Computer Architecture Lab (http://en.wikiversity.org/wiki/Computer_Architecture_Lab) has information on many different instruction sets (ISA), and documents efforts by many students trying to implement their own ISA in a FPGA.
